MIXI Launches Internal Initiative To Support Tokyo’s Decarbonization Initiative “HTT”

Serving locally sourced dishes made with Tokyo-grown ingredients in our company cafeteria

Tokyo, Japan, March 3, 2026 — MIXI, Inc. announces its support for the goals of HTT, a decarbonization action led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to help realize a sustainable society. The action is centered on reducing, generating, and storing electricity. As a FY2025 HTT Partner Company, MIXI is promoting initiatives related to the cause. In late February 2026, our company cafeteria served dishes using locally produced ingredients to raise employee awareness of local production and local consumption. We also began placing HTT awareness leaflets throughout the office and displaying digital signage to further encourage environmental awareness among employees.

Internal HTT Awareness Initiatives

Kiyose-grown turnips in our company cafeteria
As part of our efforts to reduce emissions across the entire supply chain, we served simmered turnip and satsuma-age fish cake at our company cafeteria. The dish featured turnips from Kiyose, one of Tokyo’s leading agricultural areas, as the main ingredient. By using ingredients produced in the same city (Tokyo), our headquarters in Shibuya took on this initiative to make the concept of “local production, local consumption” more relatable to our employees, while also reducing transportation energy.

Turnips are in season from winter to spring, and when served as a simmered dish, their natural flavor and sweetness really come through. Many employees tried this dish when it was offered, and it sparked conversations across the company about produce grown in Tokyo and HTT initiatives, creating an opportunity to think about the environment in the flow of everyday work.

Awareness through leaflets and digital signage
In our office, we have launched awareness initiatives to help employees become more environmentally conscious, including placing HTT leaflets and displaying digital signage. The designs featured Yuto Nagatomo, Kein Sato, and others from the professional soccer team FC TOKYO, which is part of MIXI Group.

Alongside providing the locally sourced dishes, we used similar visuals to raise internal awareness of Tokyo-grown vegetables and efforts related to HTT.

MIXI and HTT Collaboration

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government operates a program that registers Tokyo-based companies that actively support these efforts as HTT Initiative Promotion Declaration Companies in order to promote understanding of HTT and advance initiatives toward realizing a decarbonized society. We are collaborating with several of those companies to promote and raise awareness of HTT. We also support the Tokyo Metropolitan Government-led HTT project aimed at reducing, generating, and storing energy, and are implementing initiatives focused on reducing energy usage.

About HTT

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting initiatives for decarbonization and stable electricity under the keyword HTT: H for “herasu” (to reduce), T for “tsukuru” (to generate), and T for “tameru” (to store). Examples of these include regularly cleaning your air conditioner filters for “reduce”, and installing solar panels and a storage battery at home for “generate” and “store”.
