New Family Song Special Award Established in the Co-Creation Category, Determining the Best Song Chosen by Families Based on a Survey of FamilyAlbum Users

Tokyo, Japan, March 16, 2026 — MIXI, Inc. will participate as a prize partner sponsor of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026, one of the largest international music awards in Japan, hosted by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA). We are also pleased to announce the establishment of the “Family Song Award: Best Song Chosen by Families in 2025, Powered by FamilyAlbum” in the co-creation category of the public voting portion of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026.

MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN is one of Japan’s largest international music awards, hosted by CEIPA, an association established by five major organizations in Japan’s music industry crossing traditional boundaries: the Recording Industry Association of Japan, the Japan Association of Music Enterprises, the Federation of Music Producers Japan, the Music Publishers Association of Japan, and the All Japan Concert & Live Entertainment Promoters Conference. It was first held in Kyoto in May 2025, and in 2026 it will be held in Tokyo, with the awards ceremony taking place on June 13.

Guided by our Purpose of enriching communication and inspiring moments of joy, we provide communication services that people can enjoy with those closest to them, including friends and family. Recognizing that music has the power to bring joy to families, foster enriching communication, and deepen emotional connections, we sponsored this award, establishing the Family Song Award in the co-creation category.

This award is based on the theme of “a song that holds family memories”. We will conduct a survey of domestic users of FamilyAlbum, our app for sharing children’s photos and videos amongst family members, and select the winning entries based on the results. Through this award, we aim to expand the reach of family communication sparked by music and further nurture the emotional bonds within families.
Details such as how to participate in the survey for the Family Song Award and the survey period will be announced at a later date.
