MIXI Introduces New Officer-Level Position of “Fellow” to Encourage Greater Specialist Activity, With Three Appointees
Defining target contributions for specialists to improve corporate value over the medium to long term
Tokyo, Japan, April 1, 2026 — MIXI, Inc., announces the establishment of a “fellow” position as the highest-ranking position for specialists with the aim of establishing a career path for highly specialized personnel and enhancing corporate value over the medium to long term through strengthening their expertise. Three individuals have been appointed as fellows.
About the Fellow Position and Our Objectives
Fellows are upper-level positions based on expertise, distinct from management. Personnel with exceptional knowledge and achievements will be responsible for creating continuous, company-wide value in their areas of expertise. As key personnel who drive intermittent business growth, we regard this as an important position comparable to upper management. They will be treated at a level similar to officers for their significant contribution to the company. We will support these highly specialized personnel in playing a greater part in the company.
Through the contributions of MIXI fellows, we aim to leverage advanced expertise to drive business growth and enhance corporate value over the medium to long term.
Introduction to Our New Fellows (appointed April 1, 2026)
Hidetaka Kojo
Hidetaka Kojo joined MIXI in 2006 as an engineer. After working at the Systems Development Department and MONSTER STRIKE Studio, he joined the Development Department in September 2018. He was appointed as a MIXI fellow in April 2026.
Since joining MIXI, he has been involved in ensuring the stability of infrastructure and databases for many years, contributing to the establishment of stable systems for operating large-scale services. In addition, he has led the development of voice chat systems and AI middleware. For “mixi2”, which was launched in December 2024, he solved highly challenging infrastructure and database issues and made significant contributions to the release of this service. As a technical pillar of MIXI, he serves as a leading figure in stable service operation, continuous functional improvement, and company-wide productivity improvement through the use of state-of-the-art LLMs (Large Language Models).
After assuming the role of fellow, he will apply his high level of expertise across the entire company as well as lead the charge in solving complex technical issues in our most important projects. As the embodiment of MIXI’s technological capabilities, he will also contribute to the recruitment of highly specialized personnel and the training of the next generation of engineers. He will also play a leading role in enhancing MIXI’s technological presence.
Taichi Takeno
After 14 years at The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd., where he led the gaming and digital content businesses and served as executive director in charge of those divisions, he left the company to work independently in 2025. After gaining experience as an independent IP content consultant, he joined MIXI and was appointed as a fellow in April 2026.
At his previous company, he played a key role in the launch of the national hit game Disney Tsum Tsum in 2014 and Disney Twisted-Wonderland in 2020. He has established partnerships with various domestic and international game and entertainment companies and creators, and has worked on a large number of Disney projects unique to Japan, achieving tremendous success within the industry.
After assuming the role of fellow, he will take maximum advantage of his experience in creating major hits in the IP and content domains, as well as his domestic and overseas network to strengthen MIXI’s core businesses. He will also lead the global development of Japanese IP, and head up major alliances, M&A, and other initiatives to enhance MIXI’s presence inside as well as outside the industry. He will be responsible for establishing a sustainable, competitive advantage by conceiving and executing business growth strategies that transcend the framework of existing businesses, enhancing corporate value, and systematizing his own production skills, building a mechanism to pass them on to the next generation.
Takehito Masui
Takehito Masui joined Warner Music Japan Inc. in 2010. He served as executive producer of Warner Music Entertainment in 2021 and was appointed corporate officer and head of the strategic planning section of Warner Music Entertainment in 2023. He joined MIXI in April 2025 and was appointed executive producer and special delegate of the President’s Office (concurrently serving as senior producer with the President’s Office of Warner Music Japan Inc.). He was appointed as a MIXI fellow in April 2026.
In his previous position as a director, he was involved with the creation of chart-topping hits for artists such as Tomohisa Yamashita. He went on to accumulate many other achievements in the entertainment industry working as a producer, such as launching the Atarashiichizu project and producing “BAD HOP THE FINAL at TOKYO DOME”, the first solo performance by a Japanese hip-hop artist at Tokyo Dome.
After assuming the role of fellow, he will create new, intermittent business opportunities, such as by creating new IP, large-scale alliances, and global collaborations by utilizing his strong domestic and international network in the entertainment industry and other fields, as well as his expert production skills. He will also be responsible for driving the enhancement of our corporate brand value.
