MIXI and RePlayce Launch the “Let’s Build a Campus” Project at HR High School’s Newly Opened Shibuya Campus
Sharing a New Model of Learning from Shibuya through Special AI Classes, PBL, and Company-School Co-Creation
MIXI, Inc. (Shibuya, Tokyo; President and Representative Director, Senior Corporate Officer, and CEO: Koki Kimura) and RePlayce Inc. (Shibuya, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Masahiro Yamamoto), which provides career exploration services for junior high and high school students, have signed a naming rights agreement for the Shibuya campus of HR High School, a support school for correspondence high school students operated by RePlayce. The campus opened on Monday, April 20, 2026, under the name HR High School SHIBUYA MIXI BASE.
Through this partnership, the two companies will launch the “Let’s Build a Campus” project, an initiative that brings companies into school management in a meaningful way. Through special AI classes and PBL (project-based learning), they will promote a new model of learning co-created by companies and schools from Shibuya.
■Background of the Partnership
Guided by its User surprise first principle and the values of Innovation, Passion, and Integrity, MIXI operates businesses that create richer communication. In recent years, the company has put a company-wide structure in place to embed generative AI as part of its business infrastructure, improving the quality and speed of day-to-day work while creating new forms of experiential value in the communication domain. To drive further business growth and value creation, MIXI recognized the need to welcome more people who share its vision and will take on new challenges together, and began exploring how to expand opportunities to connect and learn with the next generation that will shape the future of society and industry.
Since opening HR High School, the support school for correspondence high school students it operates, RePlayce has pursued an environment where each student can grow proactively while staying connected to society, guided by the keywords exploration, crossing boundaries, and co-creation.
With this shared vision, MIXI and RePlayce have jointly run a corporate problem-solving program, or corporate PBL, as part of HR High School’s inquiry-based curriculum since 2025. Over the course of roughly six months of PBL classes, students refined their ideas around the theme of creating new businesses and presented the results at a final presentation, creating a practical setting where learning connects directly to society.
Building on the strong results of this collaboration, the two companies agreed to take the initiative further and continue building an environment where students can actively engage with questions that have no single right answer and develop the ability to create new value.
At SHIBUYA MIXI BASE, the Shibuya campus of HR High School newly opened this spring through the partnership between the two companies, students will be offered learning opportunities that go beyond the standard curriculum and draw on MIXI’s practical expertise in product development and the use of AI cultivated across its diverse businesses. These opportunities will help this AI-native generation build the practical skills they need to thrive in a digital society.
Through special classes led by MIXI employees, corporate PBL programs, and specialized seminars, we will create an environment where students can gain skills they can apply in society. In doing so, we will offer them a wider range of options for the future beyond higher education and employment alone, and support the challenges taken on by the people who will shape the future.
■Comments from Both Companies
Tatsuma Murase, Director and Senior Corporate Officer, MIXI, Inc.
What can we adults offer students of the AI-native generation, who are spending their formative years in a world where generative AI is simply part of everyday life? No one has the answer yet. But what they need, I believe, is not just the technical skill to use AI effectively. More than that, they need the experience of thinking deeply, in their own words, about what to create with AI and what questions to ask alongside it. At MIXI, every employee uses generative AI in their daily work, and we have built up that process of experimentation and learning in real time. Together with RePlayce, we will create in Shibuya a place where students can learn by working alongside professionals who are seriously engaging with these questions, rather than simply being taught ready-made answers. We are committed to this initiative as a company because we believe the generation that grows from this place will go on to redefine the very assumptions society is built on next.
Masahiro Yamamoto, Representative Director and CEO, RePlayce Inc.
This partnership with MIXI, Inc. marks a major step toward seamlessly connecting education and society. Through this new learning hub, SHIBUYA MIXI BASE, students will be able to earn a high school qualification through a partner correspondence high school while also engaging seriously with professionals from leading companies at the forefront of AI, IT, and entertainment. We will promote an approach to education that does not ask AI for answers, but uses AI to create new value. Starting from the potential of young people, we aim to update the way education works today and create new opportunities for learning and growth. We look forward to seeing many innovators emerge from this Shibuya hub to help lead the next generation of society.
