MIXI to Host Interactive Program That Encourages Communication With Words for Children During Summer Vacation on August 19

Providing Space and Opportunity for Truly Meaningful Connections Through Kotodaman Wordplay

Tokyo, Japan, July 17, 2026 — MIXI, Inc. will host an interactive program to encourage communication among children on August 19, 2026, at the Children and Youth Center Friends Honmachi (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). The program will be held as part of Miraino Toshoshitsu (Library of the Future), a community support program organized by Shibuya Mirai Design (hereinafter “Shibuya Mirai Design”).

By utilizing the wordplay of Innovative Word-Battle RPG Kotodaman (hereinafter “Kotodaman”), the program allows children to enjoy creating and sharing words while discovering different ways of thinking through interaction with friends. Registration for the program will open at 10:00 AM on July 18, 2026 (JST).

Reason for the Program

With our mission “To provide space and opportunity for truly meaningful connections,” we aim to foster deep and meaningful communication rather than simply connecting people. As part of this effort, we have identified “mutual prosperity with local communities” as one of our material issues in our sustainability activities, and we are working to revitalize local communities in Shibuya and create learning opportunities for children. Since 2018, we have collaborated with Shibuya Mirai Design as a partner organization.

Since 2024, we have provided programs for Miraino Toshoshitsu, a community support program organized by Shibuya Mirai Design that offers elementary school students a safe place to gather and participate in educational and creative activities. To date, we have held design workshops and other activities for elementary school students. This year marks our third year participating in the program, and we will introduce Kotodaman wordplay for the first time.

Kotodaman naturally sparks communication through words while reinforcing the value of spending time together, something we deeply cherish. Through this program, we hope to bring that experience to children in a way they can enjoy together.
