About MIXI MEETUP! TECH & DESIGN DAY

MIXI MEETUP! TECH & DESIGN DAY is a casual meetup event built around making connections where attendees can also experience modern technology and design.
Through talk sessions and exhibition booths, we will not only introduce our initiatives and future outlook in the technology and design fields, but also create opportunities for participants to connect with one another and with our engineers and designers, giving them a chance to directly experience the connections and culture that MIXI values.

This event will center around AI-focused sessions, which reflects one of our company’s current priorities. The keynote will feature the three heads of our development, design, and security sections. They will discuss the real changes happening on the front lines: from practical, field-based examples of AI use to how to determine what work will remain valuable in the future and what work will change. The design session will also present a case study on how generative AI was used on MONSTER STRIKE’s social media to generate buzz.

In addition, booths and exhibits related to MIXI products will be displayed on the 35th floor of our headquarters, giving visitors a hands-on way to experience our initiatives. MIXI Selfie Cam, an interactive attraction, showcases new technology adapted from technology used at home games of the professional basketball team CHIBAJETS FUNABASHI, projecting footage captured on visitors’ own smartphones on the spot and turning spectatorship into a shared communication experience.

4:30 PM – 5:00 PM	Session 1 “Two Front Ends and the Design Philosophy” Speaker: Hiroya Kawase (Development Department, Tanpopo Division, Tanpopo Group) We will compare the design philosophy and implementation differences between web (Next.js) and mobile (Flutter) in mixi2, and introduce their shared technical innovations and the optimal architecture.	Session 1 “Behind the Scenes of Building the New Social Network mixi2 From Scratch: A Designer Shares the Product’s Origin Story” Speaker: Koji Fujisaki (mixi2 Group designer) Moderator: Taku Ozaki (Design Department, Product Design Division, Experience Group 2 manager) An interactive session in which designers discuss mixi2 from its launch through its growth. We’ll explore the thinking and decision-making behind the logo, feature design, and development process.
