Used by half of parents in Japan and growing rapidly overseas!
FamilyAlbum is an app that allows parents to securely and easily share an online album of their children’s photos and videos with only family members they’ve invited. Since its release in 2015, the app has been used by approximately 65% of parents in Japan2 as the app they use when their children are born. Even 11 years after its release, the service still continues to grow steadily.

FamilyAlbum provides support in seven languages3 and 175 countries and regions, and the number of new users continues to grow more rapidly overseas than in Japan. In addition to a steady increase in new users in Japan, the overseas demand for FamilyAlbum has been expanding exponentially each year.
FamilyAlbum will continue to provide a place where the entire family can enjoy connecting with one another—making parenting less lonely and more enjoyable!

Message from Kenji Kasahara, the founder and a director of MIXI, Inc.
Thanks to your support, FamilyAlbum has officially surpassed 30 million users! I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the users of our service.
We launched FamilyAlbum in 2015 and celebrated its 10th anniversary last year with our first large-scale in-person event in Japan. This event gave our entire team the chance to meet families in person and see their smiles firsthand, reminding us that what we create is truly about strengthening family bonds.
FamilyAlbum has grown to reach families in 175 countries and regions in 7 languages. Over 40% of our users are outside Japan, with North America alone making up 20%, showing how quickly our global community continues to grow. Even across differences in language, culture, and lifestyle, we strongly feel that the joy of watching children grow and the desire to share those moments with family are universal.
As we go beyond the 30 million user mark, FamilyAlbum continues to evolve to be more than just a smartphone app for sharing photos and videos. We will continue developing FamilyAlbum into a platform that supports family communication by expanding services like FamilyAlbum Premium and photo prints, and further developing offerings like our GPS Guardian and online medical consultations.
Even as the service grows and evolves, one core belief remains unchanged: we want FamilyAlbum to be a place where children and their families can look back on their albums and feel the deep love of those around them. In the future, we will continue to take on new challenges that go beyond expectations and connect the hearts of families around the world.
